This coming weekend we’ve got a few busy days in the Garlic shop planned. The following projects need to make progress over the three days:

  • The 966 has a stuck rack, so need to pull the injection pump to take to town.
  • The D6C water pump has been rebuilt and is ready for reinstallation. Put that on and install the radiator. It has some fuel supply problems too, which we’ll assess once we can start it.
  • The Allis HD-15AC has the head off the 6-71. Need to make survey and get ready to install the new head in a few weeks.
  • The Diesel Seventy Five needs a new magneto installed on the pony and make sure everything else on the pony is ready to go.
  • Add some more loose juice to the 1 ½ ton Dodge Power Wagon. See if we can get the engine to move.
  • Fiddle around with the three wheelers and golf carts to get them working.
  • Play with Jeep No. 2 a bit, maybe start on removing the engine from Jeep No. 1, preparing for the replacement engine.
  • Make sure the 14A D8 still starts, maybe polish the brushes and armature a bit on the electric start motor.

If you happen to be in the area, come on by the Garlic Barn and turn a wrench or just have a cup of coffee and a visit. We’ll be there all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Plans for the following weekend include likely equipment retrievals from Tehachapi with hauls down the hill to the Garlic Barn. We have gotten access to an old junkyard which has some very interesting equipment. There is a fleet of three first generation DW-10s, a really neat three axle 1946 Ford boom truck, several cranes and a Plymouth locomotive. We’re trying to make deals to purchase all of that and more. Watch this space for more information!
