Well, this is the first edition of the 2024 Yellow Power newsletter! There is much to remember in 2023 as Yellow Power Caterpillar + Community (YPCC) celebrates its start and first year as a new organization. Many thanks to all of you as Founding Members of the organization. It would not exist without the many supporters and contributors. Thanks for a great start as we look forward to continued growth and commitment in 2024. Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year!

The new YPCC Board of Directors will have a face-to-face meeting in Iowa at the end of January. New members Tom Stanesa and Art Reed will join the Board of Directors for 2024. Kent Bates and I will have completed our one-year terms and will not continue as Board Members but will be continuing supporters of YPCC.

The Board has determined not to publish a magazine at this time, but newsletters will be published every other month with the number of pages increasing with time. Some YPCC merchandise is currently available on a limited basis. The store and more merchandise will be available soon. Watch for news about this on the YPCC website and in future newsletters.

As the Board meets in January, it will schedule 2024 events that YPCC will attend and participate in.

In 2023, YPCC attended and participated as an organization in 4 major events:

  1. Best of the West Show in Santa Margarita, CA
  2. Half Century Progress Show in Rantoul, IL
  3. HCEA International Convention & Old Equipment Exposition in Bowling Green, OH
  4. 100+ Years of Progress in Carthage, NC

Several smaller Chapter Shows were participated in by YPCC members as well. Busy year for a start-up!

The Board will also begin planning for the 100th Caterpillar Anniversary, as 2025 will be a year of celebration with many historic and futuristic events.

I would personally like to thank you all for the support I received as President of YPCC. I am looking forward to the continued successful development and growth of this organization.

Please continue to enjoy the YPCC this year and in the future. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact a Board Member. The Board of Directors is committed and dedicated to serving the membership!
