Simplicity is the ticket for turbocharger savings. The mechanism itself is a simple, turbine driven air compressor and all operation, maintenance and reconditioning procedures are simple and logical.
Foremost in consideration of turbochargers is the means of obtaining the long and trouble-free service life the turbocharger was designed and built to give. The "ticket" that leads to this destination is the "To: Trouble-free Service" ticket. A look at this ticket reveals that this does nor require any procedures other than were recommended before turbochargers were applied to tractor engines.
Similarly, if a turbocharger failure does occur, the other half of the ticket "Return: To Renewed Turbocharger Life" - is put to use. Here again, nothing new in procedures or techniques is required to accomplish a lasting reconditioning effort.
Operating and servicing turbochargers can be as simple as using a ticket for travel. By merely putting this simplicity to work, savings will result.
*This pertains to engines installed in machines equipped with gasoline starting engines.
**A single-stage, dry-type air cleaner such as used on 955 and 966 Traxcavators requires replacement of two elements (Primary and safety). A two-stage air cleaner has but one element to be replaced.
