Caterpillar Training grounds - Tinaja Hills, AZ

Hey friends thought I’d share my week this week with you all, some of you may have never seen the Caterpillar training ground south of Tucson at Tinaja Hills AZ.
I am down here all week for what is called the CDI conference.  A week of networking with Cat product specialists and other guys that do what all do from all over North America from other Cat dealers. We learn all the new product APU’s (annual product updates) so we can take it back with us.
Today I had hydraulic excavator training - you can see it’s not just power points for us, we actually get to get in the equipment and use l the new features that we learn about.

I was there in 1970 with a group sponsored by CCM models. We were there 2 days and were treated very well. Everything took place in the indoor demo area

Some pictures from todays sessions - class was called hauling units so we go to play with 637 scrapers (my personal favourite), loading trucks with a 374 inch excavator etc. so far my favourite day!

Here’s the final batch of pictures I got from the Tinaja hills training facility.  Wish it hadn’t been so cold while I was down there but it was still a good week. 
Some key take seats for me was the updated grades assist quick mode in excavators, steer assist in tractors, the 982XE (cvt transmission) some major updates to the 926,930 and 938 that I can’t share yet, and the introduction of the 966GC. If you have questions about anything I’m talking about feel free to ask.
